the essence of mindfulness
Sunday August 17th
4 - 5:30pm est
@ Lehigh Valley Sangha
26 N. 3rd St., Emmaus, PA 18049
The present moment is the only moment that is ever available to us.
It is the only moment in which we can love. It is the only moment in which we can pursue healing, growth, and connection. And it is the only moment in which realizing our inmost potential is possible.
Our situation calls to mind the words of Zen master Shunryu Suzuki "You are perfect just as you are... and you could use a little work."
Mindfulness is an innate ability. It is your ability to bring a relaxed, clear attention to the present moment. Mindfulness meditation strengthens this innate ability, making it both more stable and inclusive.
Stability means our attention wanders less (so we feel more present in our life). Inclusivity means our attention takes in more of what is actually happening in the present moment, as opposed to being lost in thought about what might happen.
Training your attention with the practice of mindfulness meditation, you open to the essence of who you are, and begin to live into, to real-ize, your inmost potential.
In this class we will explore:
+ What mindfulness is
+ How mindfulness works
+ The new science and psychology of well-being and
+ Explore the practice of Mindfulness of Breathing
Whether you are new to mindfulness meditation or an experienced meditator this class has something to offer!
