introduction to mindfulness
Mindfulness is your natural ability to bring a relaxed, clear attention to the present moment.
Sounds easy, right? Even basic! What’s wild is that because of the demands placed on our attention, at work, home, in life and in relationships — most people who try to pratcice mindfulness find their attention is quite jumpy or scattered.
So what can we do?
Mindfulness meditation is the practice of patiently training your attention to the present moment and then “train to remain”. That is, when we notice our attention wanders, we gently guide it back.
You might ask, well “Why bother? Time is a valuable thing, why should i spend time learning mindfulness?”
research has shown that people who practice mindfulness daily
stress less
have reduced anxiety and depression
improve focus and attention
are able to think more clearly and creatively
report greater understanding of themselves and connection with others
sleep better
get sick less
experience reduced blood pressure
are better able to regulate their emotions
ruminate less
are able to communicate more effectively

Attending this free session you'll learn and explore:
+ what mindfulness is
+ the benefits of practicing daily
+ how mindfulness works
+ a teacher-led mindfulness practice
This class is also an information session for those interested in attending the “Mindfulness for Stress, Anxiety, and Burnout” series that Brandon will be leading at the Roxborough YMCA Tuesdays, 7-8PM, from October 4 - 25, 2022
Since completing a 2-year, 900-hr Meditation Teacher Training in 2017 Brandon has gone on to share mindfulness meditation with thousands of people. His focus is on providing instruction that is clear and practical, yet reveals the profound impact mindfulness can have on daily and working life.
